Parenting 101 with JP

You may have to excuse some of my language but the kids are THAT important to me. Also, there are exceptions to things that I say, just not many. Plus, people always say, "you think you know everything." Nope, but I know right from wrong, and the difference is... I make no excuses for wrong. PERIOD.

"It's all about the kids." HA. I wish, but in these days, thats, a phrase I HEAR but rarely SEE. Parents now are so caught up in their own lives and making excuses for why something is or isn't (usually laziness) that they don't realize the long term damage that they're doing to their own children. It truly is very disheartening because when you address these parents, the automatic response is defense. I understand. I'm not a parent yet (August 23rd), HOWEVER, that does not mean that I couldn't understand the basic principles on how to be a good parent. Here are a few JP-esque statements to think about.

If you cuss a lot around your kids, don't be mad when they get kicked out of school for cussing around their friends and get caught.

If you are violent around your kids, don't be mad when they try to fight everybody that does anything to them.

If you keep a messy house, don't be mad if they have roaches in theirs later on.

If you never sacrifice your own comfort and time for them, don't expect them to do the same for you later when you need anything from them AND don't expect them to sacrifice their comfort for their own kids.

If you don't engage their minds with learning, don't be mad if they grow to be idiots.

If you are a father and you act like a dick to your kids, your son will grow to be a dick, and your daughter will grow up and date dicks.

If you are a bitch to your kids, you daughter will grow up to be a bitch, and your son will grow up and date bitches.

The list goes on and on but there are a few to think about as you either think about your personal interactions with your kids or just when you observe others around theirs.

Here is a more immediate example for you to think about... think of the people that you know.. Think of the ones who are successful or bound to be successful.. then think of their parents.. Now think of all the lowlifes that you know... then think of their parents. See the trend?

In the past, most younger parents treated their kids as blessings, thats why they had so many of them. In the present, most younger parents treat their kids like a burden. They never WANT to do anything for there kids, they'll do what they need to do to keep them alive and clothed but the interactions have changed because the times have changed.

If I was able to cry about this topic, I'd drop tears on this JUST to show you how serious I am on this matter. I just wish everybody was as open minded as me or more on this topic.

Let me tell you what IS probably going to happen:

A LOT of parents who do these things will be offended and angry that I felt I had the right to say something without any kids already. Boom. mind closed. problem goes on. ---Ignore the messenger, think about the message.

Some parents will think that it doesn't apply to them, because they feel that they do enough and this will fly right over their heads. --- Better think hard about your lifestyle.

A couple parents eyes have been opened with this and hopefully they'll change for the betterment of themselves AND their children, and these values will be instilled in them. --- YOU couple are who I wrote this for, eff the other people.

and the VERY small amount of parents who are actually GOOD parents, will read this and appreciate knowing that I will not be apart of this ever growing problem in society. --- You GOOD parents are the ones who set the example, and I thank you for being who you are for your kids.

Look to your left, now look to your right. Do you see a mound of junk, dust everywhere, crumbs all over your carpet, etc etc. -ahem- THEN CLEAN THAT JUNK UP

Your home should be somewhere where you refocus your chakras and chill out. Not a wild jungle where you basically have to play "Don't Step on the Lava."

When your environment is in order then its easier for you to be in order... I'm sure every bodies' bed feels awesome but think of how good it feels to lay in the bed when the bed is made.. yeaahhh boi. Never fear... you TOO can enjoy that feeling at a constant basis if you just apply yourself.

Now remember:

1. Start from top to bottom

2. Open some windows so the dust can fly out.. no point in not doing it

3. Put things away that your not using

4. Organize, organize, organize -don't move junk from one room to junky up another room

5. Using actual cleaning supplies never hurt anyone.. at least not that bad

6. Turn on music.. it'll make things a lot less tedious

7. THROW/GIVE STUFF AWAY!!!! You do NOT need ALL of that junk and I'm sure somebody does.

8. Bathrooms do not clean themselves magically. So if your waiting for that magical fairy to do it... fall back.

Well there is a few things to keep in mind. Once you finish just watch and see how much better you feel and how your able to focus on the other tasks at hand. Also, watch how many people might actually start coming over now. You're Welcome.

I don't know where to start so if it sounds sporadic... bear with me.

Preface: Have you ever wondered why people tend to be hesitant of getting close to you? Have you wondered why people tend to make funny faces when you are in inclosed areas with them? Well, the answer is because you look and smell like death... but not to worry, I am here to help.

THIS IS RULE ZERO: TAKE A BATH/SHOWER EVERY EVERY DAY

1. I didn't know people didn't know this but shower gel should not be most peoples main source of cleansing. Its cool to use it but use it last. For example, you don't wax a car before you wash it. Regular old soap and water will do the trick. Then, use shower gel. SOOOOOOOOOO many people are making this mistake daily. Time to end that.

2. Towels... Use one... those sudsy loofa things won't get you CLEAN like a towel will.

towels + soap = wash

loofas + bodywash = afterwash

SN: Cologne does not cover up funk.... period.

3. Shampoo does not bite and it will not melt your head.. try it

4. Deodorant. There should be no man that uses, exclusively, spray deodorant. Don't get me wrong, I love AXE and all that; However, if you notice, AXE makes stick deodorant for a reason. BECAUSE YOU SHOULD USE IT.

- But wait... not only should you use it but you should use what applies.. i.e. if you are a sweaty person, use the antiperspirant kind because it'll give you that added protection.

- if you are a person that have "fresh factors" playing against you (i.e. larger people, certain ethnic backgrounds or just plain strong b.o.) use a deodorant that has that added time like a 24 hour protection kind. Its cool to wanna get the fancy brands but it smarter to get the more efficient one.

5. If you have facial hair.. make it look like its on purpose... that whole.. dances with wolves look... nah homie

6. Women... body hair.. this may sound sexist but... handle that.. your underarms shouldn't look like mine and neither should your legs... Don't get me wrong.. you can not handle that................ and you can not have a man either. as far as the intimates.... cutting the grass raises the property value. Also, nobody will wanna visit if they can't find the house. I've never witnessed these personally but I've heard about them.

7. Men... this may sound questionable but handle them nails homie. You may try to battle this but when women don't you touching them and they grow fungus and u have to get your nail-bed removed... your going to wish you listened.

8. Brush your teeth with a decent toothbrush and toothpaste (water doesn't count).. If your tooth brush bristles are all over the place... get a new one. Breath can stink and teeth can fall out...

9. Clean out your ears... trust me.

10. Men... WASH YOUR FEET.. i know that they're "all the way down there" but you gotta do it... I know a lot of girls... and believe it or not... they know when your feet smell like hot death on rye bread.

its been awhile since i've did one of these...

1. I'm still tired of little dudes in big clothes. I kno cats half my size, , that wear shirts bigger than I do. Why? Man, you will NEVER get respect in that huge shirt...never. sorry, you lose

2. Bright Easter/Long suits.. tacky..period.. they're bad enough individually, but the combination of them both is sad. Prom suits are no exception.

3. Girls who can't cook.. ... .... i can cook, so you, yes you, can learn how to cook also.

4. Messy ppl.. junk all over the place isn't sexy.. clean up yo spot and see how much more comfortable your guests act.

5. ignorance.. remaining stupid your whole life isn't gonna get you far.. and if u think that you know everything.. it's just that type of thinking that makes you stupid.

6. its 08, almost 09.. time to start taking more showers, not baths and not "wash ups"... showers... good showers.. with real soap and real water.

7.. or 6(cont.) follow that shower with deodorant.. immediatly.. and know what kind of deodorant to use.. not everybody can use the fancy deodorants.. sometimes u just gotta use the XTRA STRENGTH kinds.. thats ok.. nobody will mind, but they will mind if ur musty..

8. save your money.. quit spending b4 u get it... think before you spend.. In the words of Jay-Z "being broke is childish, and i'm quite grown"

9. friends don't let friends be wack.. if u kno somebody thats doing something wack.. tell them.. but be careful how you do it..

-example- ladies, if you friend is still wearing jordans with club shirts/dresses on.. politely suggest that they get some heels that would work better.
-example-dudes, if yo homie raps.. and he's wack, but you tell him that his music is tight.. ur only becoming a part of the problem.. or.. if yo homie is trynna mack girls with super wackness.. let him knows.. the girls would appreciate it greatly.

10.. shoulda been number 1 to me.. in the words of one of my mentors, John Rhymes.. flint people know who he is.. "there is a time and a place for everything"
translation: act like you got some sense in public.. don't curse in church.. don't throw shyt in the movies.. stop yelling everywhere you go (and wondering why everybody is looking at you)... public displays of affection: use in moderation... etc etc.. when in doubt.. just dont do it.

11. Jordans are ok, but vary your shoe game.. something is wrong if u have 19 pair of J's and 1 pair of dress shoes.. people will go to the mall at 5 am to get new j's early.. but will be late to church.

12. I love t-shirts too but cop a polo shirt once in awhile.. matter of fact.. try this combo right here:

a polo shirt... that is your size.. if u can fit a medium comfortably.. don't buy a 2x
a nice pair of jeans.. that fit nice.. not extra baggy (levi's or somethin)
a pair of solid(or mostly solid) color shoes.. preferably not forces or jordans right now..
a conservative watch or bracelet.. nothin guady and faketry that combo and see how people react.. then start building a style from there.

13. girls, quit wearing headwraps in public.. ion care how u feel bout it.. it makes u look like a runaway slave trynna blend in

14. stop littering.. cuz ud be mad as hell if somebody threw their trash in your yard.

15. wrap it up before u catch the "cant-pee-rights"

16. the word is SPECIFIC not PACIFIC.. pacific is an ocean

17. why do people insist on drinkin nasty alcoholic beverages like its a contest.. i figure if i'mma pay THAT much for alcohol.. i'mma enjoy it w/o making ugly faces after every drink i take.. i kno cats who take that $10-a-half-gallon russian vodka str8.. makes no sense to me.. mix that shyt.

18. the word "swagger" is becoming the new "bling-bling" I saw a 70 year old lady say it.. sooo i'm done.

19. workout or do somethin physical.. being out of shape isnt hot.. people are having heart attacks younger and younger..
dudes, its been said that..

for every 35 lbs you loose.. u gain an inch of your "manhood"lol.. its prolly
somebody puttin on runnin shoes RIGHT NOW.

21. FACE BOOK PARTY ADS WHEN PEOPLE JACK SOMEBODIES ALREADY EXISTING PHOTO AND THROW A HORRIBLE LAYER OVER IT WITH GLOWING WORDS AND ALL SORTS OF WACKNESS..AHHHHHH!!!!! Hire a designer or a photographer and see how much better they do.

20 somethin. Vagina's should only be given to girls who will treat them right.. its like a pet.. give em a hair cut and wash them.. so they wont stink up your whole spot.if u know anymore things that i've forgotten.. just add them in the comments..i'll end this note like this
